Dan gave me all the services I would expect from a “non-discount” real estate agent without the extra cost. I saved $6,600 dollars using Texas Discount Realty over a traditional Real Estate Agent. We recently sold our home in North Dallas and used the services of Dan Washburn with Texas Discount Realty. We were extremely satisfied with the services that Dan offered to us.

We encountered problems with the buyers at closing time; the closing date was extended four times over a two-week period. We had already relocated to Idaho and it would have been extremely difficult to deal with these issues if it had not been for Dan. This was the third house that we have sold in Dallas, and Dan was the first realtor we have ever done business with who put our interests first. He was our advocate through the entire process and helped steer us through a variety of challenges.

Dan constantly checked up with the lender and the buyers and the other agent to keep everyone apprised of what was going on and to make sure their work was getting completed. "For anyone who's skeptical of using a realtor to sell their home, let me offer the following; I had never used a realtor to sell a home until recently. In my lifetime I've sold 5 properties without assistance and two on the very day I posted the sign... however... this time was quite different. I began last fall with a FSBO, but, as my needs changed in terms of timing, I had to consider other alternatives. In today's market it is much more difficult to sell a home on your own. "I often thought about the cost of selling a home was excessive until I heard about Texas Discount Realty. I calculated what I would be paying to get professional people to handle my transaction and decided to give them a try.

Sherry Rhoades responded promptly and had my home listed in no time. She recommended that I place flyers in the Texas Discount Realty sign that stood visibly on the corner at curb side. They were going like pancakes and they weren't even sugar coated. Sherry Rhoades made excellent recommendations about how to prepare the home for a greater impression on interested buyers. Her suggestions paid off and no more than two weeks went by and a buyer appeared ready to deal but testing the market for a desperate seller. Sherry did not pressure me (I hate pressure) to go for the deal but talked about options. A month later the home sold for the asking price and conditions we could all live with. The sale of the home has not ended the relationship created but instead, I asked and received help in looking for other properties for myself and others because I know and trust that Sherry will be there if you need her.

Thanks for your competent assistance in selling our house. Your service is "full", and clearer than my experiences with full commision realtors. In our case, as the buyer did not have an agent, we sold the house to him quickly at a price he could afford (less than we would otherwise have been able to sell it as the 3% buyers agent commission was saved). With the commission savings, the buyer got a great deal and we received the same as listing with our prior agent. The $7,000.00+ commission savings allowed us and the buyer to complete a quick sale that otherwise would not have been possible.

We knew that FSBO was not the way to go, as most other buyer realtors avoid working with sellers themselves. We also did not see the benefit of going with a full cost realtor. After some research, we contacted Texas Discount Realty.

We had the house on the market for less then a month, when we received a full price plus offer. Dan is honest and trustworthy and was a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Dan (and TDR) as a realtor and know that he will be of benefit to anyone looking to sell or buy a home.

Hi, Aaron --

You and I spoke briefly a few weeks ago, and you referred me to Joan House. We LOVE her!!!!!! She gives real estate brokers and agents a good name! She took a flat fee listing on my fiancé's place and mine. I have two offers already. She is helpful and knowledgeable and friendly and patient. She just great all the way around. We're also looking to buy a place for ourselves when these sell, and we wouldn't think of using anyone but Joan. EVER! I have already referred her to two other people.

On the subject of this flat fee listing, thank you so much for what you are doing for consumers everywhere. This approach is way past due. The information that people need to sell there own homes is out there. Not everyone is comfortable or capable doing it, but those who are deserve a choice: do it yourself and save some money by not paying for a service you don't need or pay for the service if you don't want to handle it yourself or are not able to. All in all, the services that were provided by Dan Washburn and Texas Discount Realty were pretty good. I saved about $9,000.00 by not paying the seller's agent commissions (3%). I utilized the Flat Fee Plus product.

I believe Texas Discount Realty's model of selling homes is better than the more popular or conventional method. This is because it is very rare that your seller's agent will bring you a prospective buyer. Most of time it is the buyer's agent that shows your home and brings you a qualified buyer. So why pay the 3% seller's agent commission when it is not absolutely necessary?

After using a realtor from another company and having no success, the decision to choose Texas Discount Realty was easy!

I was faced with selling my home in a buyer's market and during the time of the year when there is slow home buying activity. I decided to list my home with a discount broker because I wanted to increase my profit potential in a supply-laden and competitive market by saving on the sales commission. I chose Texas Discount Realty based on the testimonials and the no-nonsense professionalism that Aaron Farmer demonstrated in our initial consultation. I selected the Flat Fee Plus option because I wanted a professional to handle the closing process. I had been told by a traditional realtor, who I was considering to use, that a discount broker would not go "the extra mile" for me and would pressure me to accept the first offer, even if it was low, so as to minimize his/her engagement effort. Well, I am happy to say that wasn't the case with Aaron and TDR. As a matter of fact, Aaron did go "the extra mile" by patiently and professionally providing guidance, recommendations, and assistance over the course of receiving multiple offers. Just a quick note to say thanks for helping me to sell my home! Ray Choate did a great job getting the listing and pictures on Realtor.com and the MLS. This got me the exposure that I needed without having to pay a full price sellers broker. The best part is that I was in control and the potential buyers dealt directly with me rather than a go between real estate agent. After only 3 weeks I had a buyer! It was a very smooth transaction. I want to thank you for your help selling my house. Your service was the perfect solution for me. By using you to list my house in the MLS, add a lockbox so buyers could get in the house when I wasn’t there, keeping a ‘For Sale’ sign in my yard with my phone number shown – by doing this I kept control of what was happening and significantly reduced the costs of selling my house.

Other houses in the neighborhood were on the market, but only mine sold... and within 3 weeks at that! I really couldn’t ask for better coverage. I did not have to pay a seller’s agent, but did have to cover the 3% to a buyer’s agent, plus your fee and the cost of one OPEN HOUSE ad in the Statesman. That’s thousands of dollars less than it would have cost if I’d gone the more traditional route.

I heartily recommend you to anyone who doesn’t need handholding during the wait for a buyer to appear. Since every agent who would see it listed, and show it to clients, does see it regardless of how it gets put into the MLS.

What a great service you offer to the FSBO's. Prior to you contacting me
regarding the services your company offers, I had researched two other
